Don’t miss out on Japanese avant-pop queen Tujiko Noriko performing on Wednesday 20 August as part of a major national tour, the tight groovin’, big voiced harmonies of Tell Heaven on Thursday 21st, and Emerge’s Double Feature running from Thursday 28 to Saturday 30 August.

Also check out one of Australia's most recognizable indie artists, Sophie Koh, as she launches her much anticipated second album "All Shook Up" at the Judy on Saturday 30 August. The 2008 Queensland Poetry Festival, Spoken in One Strange Word, will tantalize your literary taste buds with a menu of outstanding local, national and international poets and performers from Friday 22 through Sunday 24 August. Judy’s Shopfront’s Shutters open for VALLEY FIESTA Sat 13 Sep 3:30 till late

To coincide with Valley Fiesta 2008, the Judy’s newest performance space, Shopfront, launches with Judy’s Lounge, a wholesale mixed bag of acrobatic, comedic and audio-visual “locally produced” specials from three talented groups and individuals including:
• one man audio-visual assault unit Simulcast and scratch turntable-ist DJ Damage;
• balancing beefcake comedy duo PopEyed; and,
• lauded Indigenous comedian Sean Choolburra, straight off the plane from the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival

BRISBANE CABARET FESTIVAL @ The Judy

Just a quick mention that the Brisbane Cabaret Festival is on again. The eighth HLB Mann Judd Brisbane Cabaret Festival will swing into The Judy with a power-packed program of international and local luminaries – from explosive music to spoken word.

Influenced by her Tartar and Russian heritage, the Melbourne-based Zulya has been described as “.one of the best singers in Australia.” by ABC Classic FM, and was awarded the 2007 ARIA Award for Best World Music Album.
