Emma Dean Sat 28th June at 7:30pm

Brisbane’s own singer/songwriter/musician Emma Dean releases her debut album REAL LIFE COMPUTER GAME on Saturday, June 28 with a very special launch show at the Judith Wright Centre in Brisbane.

The album launch forms part of a national tour that will see her play shows in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne for the first time with her full band line-up. Finally, crowds south of her sunny hometown will get to see what lucky Brisbane audiences have been lapping up for the last few years.

As for the album, it features the latest single 'Cocaine', the next single (still a surprise) plus another 10 tracks that have recently been tagged by the media as "Elastic Pop Theatre".

Quite possibly the most replete and accomplished debut album to be heard this year, Real Life Computer Game sees Emma walking a sonic path that fuses her pop sensibilities with a darker, more dramatic sound that could very well run like her own musical.

"When first describing this album to producer Ben Stewart I started off by saying that I wanted it to be the last two years of my life in a musical," Dean revealed.

"This was a very bold starting point! Both being lovers of stringed instruments, Ben and I composed arrangements for most of the songs, along with male vocals which are present in all of the tracks and I feel that most of these songs are pop versions of pieces that could be found in a modern day musical."

Emma Dean launches her debut album at the Judith Wright Centre Saturday, June 28 with support from Ben Stewart.
