E-Newsletter March 2008
February proved to be a month of fresh, funky and energizing music, monks and experimentation.
We kicked off the month with sold out performances by The Necks and Emma Dean and Tara Simmons. The Necks' extremely clever trance-inducing musical endeavours where definitely a crowd pleaser. The fresh and funky stylings of Brisbane local talent Emma Dean and Tara Simmons left the audience wanting more.
We then took a turn down a path of experimentation with Linsey Pollak and Mal Webb in Loooooping Live. They conjured new musical imaginings with their wondrous bicycle instrument. Spectacular to say the least…..
The Judy then became a place of meditation and compassion as we welcomed The Compassionate Mandala Tour and the Tashi Lhunpo Monks into the Centre. A beautifully constructed sand mandala took form as patrons participated in meditation, workshops and performances, leaving all refreshed and re-energized.
The month concluded with a musical collaboration between the young and the wise with Megan Washington and Paul Grabowsky and another sold out season of Bell Tower II featuring two dance works in development by Lisa Wilson.
How can you beat such a fantastic start to the year? Well……
