An audiovisual trip to hip-hop hosted by Tom Thum

In Brisbane it's really rare to get the opportunity to see a DVDJ gig. If you want to see 2 Dogs Soundsystem tear-it-up live, you'll just have to join us at their very first gig back in Brisbane fresh from touring Europe and the UK.
Flexing a razor edge, this launch event for Sawtooth Productions cuts and scratches trip to hip hop. Combining the best of the old school with the best in new school, this special one-night-only gig sees some of Brisbane’s biggest international exports alongside cutting edge deejay technology.
From 1997 to 2004 Katch and Dave would tear wax to pieces for hours on end every Friday at Ric’s. Now it’s the Judy’s turn and this time we’re getting them to tear DVD’s to pieces on DVDJ’s. We’ve invited a diverse musical line up including the VJ crew that played with the Resin Dogs as they rose to acclaim, Brisbane’s own Strictly and Lowdown. Also performing a DVDJ set will be Melbourne's turntable warrior, DJ Wasabi (Combat Wombat, Illzilla, Fortknight Productions), an audio-visual performance from Simulcast, a collaborative performance by Collapsicon and VJ Warkry and a Sorrato performance by DJ Damage (The Optimen, Terntable Jediz) plus a bunch of guest emcees and breakers. Tommy Illfigga fresh from a string of gigs at the Edinburgh Festival will make a special appearance. This event will be hosted by internationally awarded beatboxer Tom Thum.
