Listening to Japan's Tenniscoats is like discovering the meaning of song for the first time.
Their softly swerving melodic journeys are carefully crafted and composed to create one of the most original visions of post-folk pop music in the 21st century. Live sets are electric with equal doses freeform improvisation, reflective harmonies and outright psychedelic energy.
Travelling to Australia for the first time in several years, The Tenniscoats bring a wealth of new material that builds on their two spellbinding full-length albums, We Are Everyone and The Ending Theme.
The sixth concert in the Judy’s Sound Logic Series, The Tenniscoats will be joined by Swedish/UK duo For Barry Ray who create sound through the layering of live instruments, tape loops and analogue treatments. Live at the Jude they will debut fresh material from their New Days album.
Completing this international line-up of sonic experience, is Brisbane no-pop icons, The Deadnotes.
An outstanding evening of some of the world’s finest in leftfield sound craft. A not to be missed show, live at the Judy!
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
