Artists of every persuasion and from every genre are being encouraged to attend Talking Shop, a monthly mingling of Brisbane’s creative community held at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts.

The relaxed get-together was conceived by the Director of the Judith Wright Centre, Ruth Hodgman and is designed to provide artists with a forum to meet, chat, discuss, applaud, share and learn about opportunities for growing the arts in Queensland.

Ruth Hodgman described Talking Shop as a way for “…arts and industry to get together in an informal setting and talk shop.”

“We want to encourage the exchange of ideas in a supportive environment, Ruth said.

“And it’s also nice to meet someone new in a creative field.

“Talking Shop provides artists with the opportunity to network and share ideas with like-minded people and industry workers.

“We want those attending to leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and re-inspired with their chosen profession.”

Each series of Talking Shop includes a short talk by an arts industry expert.

Previous talks have included the launch of creative development residencies and informative discussions on touring and other arts issues.

You're invited to join us for the second Talking Shop - a mingling of artists of all sorts for industry conversations and networking.
