The Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts invites applications from Queensland based artists, collectives, ensembles and not for-profit companies to take up short-term creative development residencies under the Fresh Ground Program.
The Fresh Ground program provides an opportunity to create new work in an environment that supports innovation and exploring new territory.
Fresh Ground provides successful applicants with the use of either the Music or Theatre Rehearsal Rooms and access to an agreed level of professional expertise, equipment and financial resources.
Fresh Ground is open to applicants that can demonstrate the need for using the rehearsal spaces for a specified purpose and that have the ability to work effectively within their nominated period.
All applicants must be based in Queensland or able to demonstrate how their project will directly benefit Queensland arts and culture.
Successful Fresh Ground applications will include a proposal of at least one outcome that provides an opportunity for engagement with other artists or audiences.
Applications for the first round of funding close 9 November 2009 with successful projects commencing after 1 January 2010.
Second round applications close 6 April 2010 with successful projects commencing after 1 July 2010.
Applications for remounting work will not be accepted.
